Class Description

Learning all stages of video production, students will help plan, film and produce a 3-4 minute promotional video for their 21stCCLC program

Learning Objectives: In this class, students will learn:

Pre-Production

  • How to use the film medium to create positive messages to the world;
  • Essential steps in Pre-Production and the planning process;
  • How to prepare for and conduct interviews;

Production

  • How to use professional camera and audio equipment;
  • To compose and film professional “b-roll” for use in a production;
  • The importance of file transfer, organization and maintenance;

Post-Production

  • An Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro, video editing software;
  • The art of the peer critique and give peer critiques on the progress of student work;
  • How to distribute, exhibit, and promote artwork for a variety of audiences.

  • About opportunities and potential resources on career pathways;

Deliverables

  • 5 – 7 minute video focused on Montana 21stCCLC programs, anchored by MT OPI staff interview(s) with supportive vignettes highlighting multiple programs;
  • Multiple, 3-4 minute promotional videos for each of the 21stCCLC programs highlighted;
