Class Description
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of photography: from understanding the camera to capturing compelling images and editing them into polished, professional-looking photos.
We’ll explore how camera settings and lighting shape a photograph, then take our skills outside to shoot real-world subjects.
This class supports storytelling by giving students a visual language to express who they are and how they see the world.
Learning Objectives: in this class, students will learn about
- The art of the peer critique and how to give constructive feedback on each other’s work
- Opportunities and potential career pathways in photography and visual media
- How to share, exhibit, and promote their artwork for different audiences
- How to use a DSLR camera and a video camcorder
- How lighting and camera settings affect a photo
- How to edit photos using Adobe Lightroom
